Facebook just passed 1 billion active users in the world, and for the first time since its creation, the largest social network presents its first TV commercial.
For this historic 90-second video clip, Facebook has chosen creative agency Wieden & Kennedy and Hollywood director Alejandro Inarritu. With this film “The Things that connect us”, the company uses the symbolism of universal values, and pays tribute to the unifying objects of everyday life such as… “chairs”. At first sight, ordinary objects but that link the men together like doorbells, airplanes, bridges… and now Facebook. Being connected is what brings us together and what makes us human: we are primarily social beings.
